Josey - Writespace (17) 1/30/20

This week I went to Writespace and got started updating the calendar for February. This task is pretty simple, but it does require some color coding to correspond between free events, one time workshops, repeating workshops, and online workshops. I also enjoy doing this because it is pretty fun, but it did take me longer than expected because I messed up a few times with the colors. After I finished up with this I moved on to updating the blog on the website. This was just simple copy and paste work but I moved information from the newsletter into weeby so I could add it to the website. This did not take long so after I moved on to a quick task of finding other writing schools in the area. Apparently one of the board members was concerned with these so I just came up with a short sentence about each place and what it did, then made sure there weren't any others Ms. Clarke wasn't aware of. This didn't take me too long so next I moved onto adding volunteers names onto this we...

Josey - 6ft (6) 1/29/20

This week I went back to 6ft press after a long break of J-term and winter break. When I got there I got reoriented a little then started with updating a new website. Although I have worked with websites a few times at Writespace this was different and it took a few minutes to get used to how everything worked. For this task I was moving all of the information about the books from one website to the next, this included pictures, information about the authors and about the books. This was not extremely difficult but it was a little tedious to download all of the pictures. I did feel very important while I was doing this because websites are one of the first things people see about a company, it also gave me a new appreciation about how much effort actually goes into putting up a simple website. Once I finished up this I only had twenty minutes left but I worked on some financial stuff. This was a little stressful for me because money can be quite important for a company and I didn't...

Josey - Writespace (16) 1/23/20

This week I went back to Writespace for the first time after J-term and winter break. Since I hadn't been for a while I felt a little disoriented going back and was just hoping I hadn't missed anthing too major. When I got there I started off by adding a few email addresses to a spreadsheet while Ms. Clarke finished up a meeting. This is always a pretty simple task, except for the occasional name that proves impossible to decipher. Once I finished this I moved on to writing the short facebook post captions. This always need to be brief, 1 to 2 sentences, and they need to be appealing and get someones attention to read the rest of it and want to learn more about the workshop. Sometimes while I was doing this it was a challenge to come up with things write at the beginning that I could tie back to the workshop and do all of this without making the caption too long. I'm always worried these won't end up usable when I'm writing but this week I feel like I at least wrote...
