I went back to Writespace for the first time in over the month and a very interesting experience typing up stories. I finished writing up stories I had done one of the other times I was there, but I got to read more and take my time more in understanding what the people were saying. It was such a different perspective on Hurricane Harvey to see these people who had to go back to work and do so much more than they normally would to recover there theatre. It was very interesting to read all of the details they put into the writing and how strong their memories of the entire event were. I read stories from three different people and was able to understand more of what they went through repairing and rebuilding the theatre, and also just the stories of getting over there. It was all of their hard work and dedication and everything they had practiced and worked on. One woman also talked about how they still put on a play at the time it would have gone on, and with everything going on with the theatre they were still able to put on this performance. Although it is tedious work I feel like I learned a lot about these experiences, but also about how to read some very difficult handwriting. It was an interesting experience to read these memories in all of the detail they were written in and to see what an experience like this is from a completely different perspective.
